Shonen Jump has a follow up report on Square Enix grand looking RPG Blood of Bahamut. After Gigant, Ifrit is being revealed as the next giant and an axe wielding general can be seen fighting it. Players can also make damage to certain parts of the giant’s body to get special items that can be used for weapon upgrade, something Monster Hunter players will be really familiar with.

Calling it a Dam Management RPG, Acquire’s latest creation is the fun looking Dungeons & Dam, of which its game system is being explained now in the just opened official website. You basically defend a town from monsters with the help of water coming from a dam nearby. However, you’ll first need to recruit adventurers of various job classes to improve the dam defense and search for useful materials in an underground dungeon. Before night time (the game is divided into day and night phase), you need to assign them to various positions in the town to prepare for attacks by monsters that will come out from the dungeon. You can repel these monsters by flooding the dungeon, which will also weaken the gates that keep these monsters from entering the streets. The game will be over if you failed to defend some of the key positions in the town. When the sun rise again, you’ll repeat the earlier process and also repairing damaged defensive units, recover your recruits health and upgrade weapons.
The game sounds interesting so far, Acquire has been on a good run with some of their games recently, so I will certainly be following this. The release date is sometime this Spring in Japan, visit the official website for more info.

I’m in the process of getting my DSi accessorized and this shows up in the news. Hori is making the official Tales of Hearts DS Lite Accessory Set that includes a protection case (with Mutsumi Inomata’s illustration on it), touch pen and cleaning cloth.
Not exactly nice looking in my humble opinion, although the protection case should come in handy to protect my white DS. I think I will get Hori’s non branded pouch and cleaning cloth instead. Tales of Hearts DS Lite Accessory Set is $19.90 at Play-Asia.com if you’re interested.

Square Enix announced, without any visuals, that “Kingdom Hearts Edition” will be available for sale when Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is released this February in Japan. A special edition DSi will be bundled together with the game, there is no details on the price yet. Expect them to do the same to PSP’s Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep too.

The latest issue of Shonen Jump unveils Square Enix’s grand looking RPG called Blood of Bahamut and the game’s teaser website has been refreshed with a short trailer and some new information. Find out more details about the game based on the site after the jump. I must say the trailer hasn’t sell me the game yet although it’s hard to say why. Also I find it weird to see the weak looking platform stands unscathed despite being hit multiple times by a giant creature of such scale.

I bought a Nintendo DSi from a trip to Hong Kong last week, and just like what I did with my PSP and PS3, I have websites to keep myself and hopefully, anyone who are interested, up to date with what’s happening in the DS world.
